About me

Hi! My name is Giuseppe Calajò and I am a theoretical physicist. I am currently a Marie Curie Fellow at ICFO in Barcelona where I am working in the Theoretical Quantum Nano-Photonics group lead by Prof. Darrick Chang.

I was born and raised in Palermo on the beautiful island of Sicily. I got both my Bachelor (2011) and Master's degree (2013) in Physics from the Univesity of Palermo spending one year in Erasmus (2012-2013) at the Vrije University of Amsterdam.

After that, I was accepted in the exciting Complex Quantum System (CoQuS) Ph.D. program in Vienna where I joined for 4 great years (2014-2018) the group of Quantum Optics Theory lead by Prof. Peter Rabl at the TU Wien.

Right after my Ph.D. defense, I moved back to the Mediterranean sea to start my PostDoc at ICFO.
Since September 2020 my Marie Curie project QUANLUX has officially started.
